OUR MISSION

The mission of the Coalition for Health Promotion (CFHP) is to prevent and reduce youth substance use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs by facilitating the delivery of multiple systematic prevention strategies as a means of empowering youth to live healthy, victorious lives free from illness and addictions. 

OUR GOALS

  • To reduce youth substance abuse and over time, abuse among adults.

  • To Increase and strengthen community collaboration among the following entities;

    • Public and private non-profits

    • Community based organizations

    • Government agencies

    • Existing community coalitions

    • All others that are a part of the target community to support efforts to prevent and reduce youth substance abuse. 

The Coalition for Health Promotion is a program created by YUMADAOP to impact the community by reducing youth substance use YUMADAOP is an acronym for The Youngstown Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Program. YUMADAOP is a 501 (c) (3) community based non profit agency that provides behavioral health prevention for all citizens of Mahoning County, with a focus on providing culturally appropriate services for those who reside in the inner city, particularly those of African-American and Hispanic descent.


We utilize state of the art evidence based prevention practices and holistic approaches to promote wellness that will result in drug free lifestyle for youth, responsible adults, a lack of interpersonal violence among community members, academic excellence, and literacy in youth, and a lack of recidivism in our returning citizens.

YUMADAOP is an Ohio MHAS licensed prevention organization.
